Kilimanjaro Wilderness Challenge – Rongai Route
Mount Kilimanjaro Climbing Through Rongai Route
The 7 Days / 6 Nights Rongai Route is a scenic and quieter route for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. It approaches the mountain from the northern side near the Kenya border and is known for its remote atmosphere, beautiful wilderness, and gradual ascent.
This 7-day itinerary provides a comfortable pace with an additional acclimatization day, giving you more time to adjust to the increasing altitude before the summit attempt. The route passes through rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and the Arctic summit zone before reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895m).
One of the highlights of the Rongai Route is the opportunity to experience Kilimanjaro from a less crowded side of the mountain before descending through the Marangu Route.
